A proverb (from Latin: proverbium) is a simple and concrete saying, popularly known and repeated, that expresses a truth based on common sense or the practical experience of humanity. They are often metaphorical. A proverb that describes a basic rule of conduct may also be known as a maxim.

For example, “The early bird gets the worm.” Wikipedia says

Whoever arrives first has the best chance of success; some opportunities are only available to the first competitors.

Challenge:
Write a short story that proves the (a) proverb. Here is a proverb list.
This will help me get over my fear of writing thematic material.
